Call for Topical Sessions and Workshops
Submittal Deadline - December 1, 2017
As part of the general Call for Abstracts we are pleased to announce an open Call for Topical Sessions and Workshops. Topical Sessions allow a dedicated block of time for several focused papers or panel discussion to explore a specific topic in more detail. The deadline for proposing a topical session or workshop is December 1, 2017.
A Topical Session Organizer’s role is to propose a relevant and timely subject, recruit speakers to submit abstracts to the session, and moderate the actual session during the Conference. Those interested in organizing and hosting a special session are invited to submit the following information:
• Title of proposed Topical Session or Workshop
• A brief description (less than 350 words) stating the importance of the topic and the rationale for the proposed session
• Organizer(s), including brief biography and contact information
• List of potential presenters (to submit abstracts via the general call) and their topics, if available
There is no fee to submit a proposal for a Topical Session.
Send Topical Session proposal information to the Conference Topical Session Chair Norm Jones no later than December 1, 2017: firstname.lastname@example.org
Send Workshop proposals to Workshop Chair Lilit Yeghiazarian no later than December 1, 2017: email@example.com
Proposals for Topical Sessions will be evaluated by the Conference Planning Committee based on the timeliness and relevance of the topic, and the degree to which the topic will bring together key researchers to disseminate recent advances to the water resources geospatial community. Note: A unique code will be provided to the accepted sessions’ organizers for presenters to use when submitting session abstracts.
Abstracts submitted for an accepted Topical Session will be subject to the same submittal and review process as all other abstracts.
